As we have already reminded more than once, the heavy shrinking of the market placed the less referenced brands at disadvantage, so, despite the efforts, the Six Days was not very successful and its production lasted only for a year.
There after Ducati definitively left the sector.
3.846 items of both models were built.
Out of curiosity, in 1977 too, a maxi off road Ducati appeared on the racing tracks. It originated from a famous double cylinder 860 and was hand-craftily transformed by a German lover. It was the forerunner of the Cagiva – Ducati, which became popular in the African rallies of the 1980s.

2001 – 2001 will always remain a sad year in Ducati’s history as two mournful events happened. Bruno Cavalieri Ducati died in 2001, he was the last of the three brothers who founded the company in Borgo Panigale and Fabio Taglioni, the unforgettable Doctor T, father of the double cylinder L inclined by 90° engine, left too, this technician’s genial intuitions and discovers gave a unique touch to the technology of the Bologna brand.
